Rice & Raisin Rondevoux

Have you ever noticed how raisins multiply, And how a small amount becomes over supply? It's crazy! How do you objectify? I get tired of them and want to quantify.
I really don't know what I said, other than the words rhyme. It never fails raisins seem to expand and out number whatever they are added to. In this rice pudding I only added a small amount. The fruit seems to multiply like rabbits. I was tired of them way too soon. I sure love warm and creamy rice pudding, but I am too lazy to bake or cook it on the stove-top. My quick microwave recipe doesn't do justice to it.

Massages by Max

While tending our grandsons, Allan asked Max to give him a backrub. He started out pretty good, but then moved on to more adventurous techniques. Two year olds think that means jump on me and climb around as if you are in the jungle.
"Give me a good back rub", his grandpa said. Max massaged and patted, then fell on his head. It was vigorous and the aches were well fed. But after, the big guy hobbled up to his bed.
It was so cute to watch Max try to take care of his grandpa. He needs to work on his bedside manner a bit, but has plenty of time to do that.

Having the Savior Beside Us

If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do? Would I think of His commandments and try harder to be true? Would I follow His example? Would I live more righteously, If I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me? *** This sweet song written by Sally DeFord, says we need not ask---The Savior to let us stand beside Him. This great task--- Gives us hope to set down our own mask.--- And in His loving light may we joyfully bask.
If the Savior stood beside me, would I often kneel to pray? Would I listen to the Spirit’s voice, and hasten to obey? Would I count my many blessings? Would I praise Him gratefully If I could see the Savior standing nigh watching over me?*** The Savior will remind us to seek Him and to pray.--- He is close beside us when we ask and Him obey? --- The world’s cares crowd our minds both night and day.--- But with His constant love, we will know the way.
If the Savior stood beside me, would I comfort those in need? Would I try to show the Savior’s love in every word and deed? Would I give to those who hunger? Would I serve more willingly If I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me?*** With Easter near, we desire the Savior beside us.--- This gift encourages us to try harder, thus;--- We feel and love Him more. He requires no fuss.--- For a few days let’s forget ourselves and climb upon His bus.
The true meaning of Easter, a sacred holiday, often gets swept under the rug due to celebrations of bunnies and egg hunts. This year is a good time to focus on songs and hymns that remind us of the Savior and His great gift. I am sharing this beloved children's song and hope it will help you have hope.

Ministering Mush By the Mouthfuls

“What do you want for breakfast?” I asked my honey crush. He gave a look that made me almost blush. “Something good, take your time and please don’t rush”. So I fixed him a big bowl of cracked wheat ‘mush’!
We have it once a week and he actually fixed it today. With nuts, brown sugar and craisins, you will gobble it down so fast you wont even remember it's mush and that you don't like it. As a kid my mom made us eat oatmeal mush. I hated it. Always the last one to leave the table until my bowl was clean. One day I dumped it all out on the table and plopped a loaf of home made bread on top, announcing I was done eating. I got busted. She tried Malt-o-Meal. It was worse. Then she found another hot cereal, cracked wheat mush, Roman Meal. I could actually eat all of it.

Scorcher at Sixty-One

It’s gonna be a scorcher today in Utah. 61 degrees, from the weather report that I saw. No, it’s not as hot as, AZ, St. George or the spa, But the best this winter, just ask your ma!!
You know it's a nice day when the golfers are out on the course in shorts and shirt sleeves. It's been pretty quiet out there, but the snow is receded and the hardy have been itching to swing a club, is my guess. February is winding down. Winter is three weeks and some change from melting away. Are we excited? You bet. Few are sad to see warmer weather and blue skies.

Sledding & Sliding-Super Cousins

We took Henry and Max sledding a few weeks ago. The hill was pretty icy and steep, but they found something more fun, a slippery slide. What child doesn't love a slide? Even though the snow was deep and hard to navigate through, they climbed and slid, laughed and loved being together for the afternoon.
Two cousins together on a slide. No chance in the winter of getting fried. Up and down happy boys, side by side. Oh, that they could live closer and abide.

Paid a Visit to Provo City Center Temple

We had a chance to tour the new Provo City Center Temple open house with Breann and Henry. We went early, because the lines get really long later in the day. 30,000 people attended it on Saturday. Wow! Our 9 a.m. appointment was perfect to start out the week. Although built within the walls of the old Provo Tabernacle that burned five years ago, underground parking, facilities, and baptistry make for much more room.
The glass stained windows are in abundance along with spiral staircases and gorgeous wood throughout. Many art pieces draw your attention to Christ, the countryside as the sun shines in during the day and the temple shines outward at night.
They say 500,000 people will visit the new Provo temple during the open house. My son-in-law wants to come from Washington to see it. I'm sure plenty of others are traveling from out of state as well. A large fountain that my grandson, Henry, insisted tossing a coin in was a great backdrop. A beautiful day and sunhouse was all we needed to make the day complete.
The hours to visit are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. You don't need tickets. All are welcome. Just watch for the signs of where to park and you will be glad you did. It's open until March 5th, but don't wait. The sooner you go the faster you will get in.
