Scorcher at Sixty-One

It’s gonna be a scorcher today in Utah. 61 degrees, from the weather report that I saw. No, it’s not as hot as, AZ, St. George or the spa, But the best this winter, just ask your ma!!
You know it's a nice day when the golfers are out on the course in shorts and shirt sleeves. It's been pretty quiet out there, but the snow is receded and the hardy have been itching to swing a club, is my guess. February is winding down. Winter is three weeks and some change from melting away. Are we excited? You bet. Few are sad to see warmer weather and blue skies.

Sledding & Sliding-Super Cousins

We took Henry and Max sledding a few weeks ago. The hill was pretty icy and steep, but they found something more fun, a slippery slide. What child doesn't love a slide? Even though the snow was deep and hard to navigate through, they climbed and slid, laughed and loved being together for the afternoon.
Two cousins together on a slide. No chance in the winter of getting fried. Up and down happy boys, side by side. Oh, that they could live closer and abide.

Paid a Visit to Provo City Center Temple

We had a chance to tour the new Provo City Center Temple open house with Breann and Henry. We went early, because the lines get really long later in the day. 30,000 people attended it on Saturday. Wow! Our 9 a.m. appointment was perfect to start out the week. Although built within the walls of the old Provo Tabernacle that burned five years ago, underground parking, facilities, and baptistry make for much more room.
The glass stained windows are in abundance along with spiral staircases and gorgeous wood throughout. Many art pieces draw your attention to Christ, the countryside as the sun shines in during the day and the temple shines outward at night.
They say 500,000 people will visit the new Provo temple during the open house. My son-in-law wants to come from Washington to see it. I'm sure plenty of others are traveling from out of state as well. A large fountain that my grandson, Henry, insisted tossing a coin in was a great backdrop. A beautiful day and sunhouse was all we needed to make the day complete.
The hours to visit are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. You don't need tickets. All are welcome. Just watch for the signs of where to park and you will be glad you did. It's open until March 5th, but don't wait. The sooner you go the faster you will get in.

On the Bright Side of Winter

If you think winter will never quit, with 6 weeks to go. Grunge is up to your waistline and all you can see is snow. Stop and get some flowers or a movie to watch a show. Make a little arrangement. You’ll soon be smiling. I know.
I picked up this lovely bouquet in the clearance bin for $1.25. With a few dried things and some Dusty Miller from the yard, it made a lovely arrangement for pennies. It has brightened up the office and helped me to look ahead to spring. It will come. I know!
