It's About Time!

So - I finally got my couches. After a two month wait, I've got the couch and loveseat. Hallelujah! Jed didn't know that they'd be delivered on Friday afternoon. When he got home, he walked right past them and didn't know that anything was different. It was a great surprise! (In the photo, they look greenish, but they are brown - Jed picked the pillows, great, huh?) The only problem is that they've gotten my decorating bug going and I want to buy MORE furniture!

Is this Mortality?

He who has the paint & time is the winner. Allan acquired five gallons of Mortality (name of color) paint from a job he did. He wanted to surprise me by painting a few walls in the family room and all of the living room. Jory was going to help him. The job was delayed due to a mishap Jory had. In the meantime Allan told me his intentions. I was in agreement to paint the family room, but had reservations about painting the living room. I loved the light walls and felt the darker paint would be too much. I asked Allan to paint the office and dining room instead because they needed it more or to wait.

While I was in Washington, the job was very nicely accomplished Allan’s way. The contrast in the living room with the ceiling and crown mold is very distinctive. But, do I like it? Not really, however, he did such a nice job which includes replacing all the furniture, cleaning up the paint tools and not saying anything about it. It took about twelve hours before I even noticed. Then I realized it is just for mortality and I can have light and airy another day or life.

Well, here we are in all our glory--the Schmidts. We've all joined up to the blogging world to share with one another wherever we are what is going on in our lives. We'll soon find out who the long-winded ones are, who struggles with the technology, who loves to blog, and who just can't be bothered to blog. Stay tuned to see what is happening with the Schmidts...
