Hayward Haircut

Look like Gordon.  It's the talk of the town.
Get your haircut like his, turn a smile from a frown.
All free if your locks are red, blonde, black or brown.
The barber gets paid by The Jazz, Dollars down.

Here is Gordon Hayward with his awesome hair.  Clean cut and classy.
This young man came into my office with the Hayward haircut and let me take his picture.  Mom said it was okay.   He loves Gordon and follows him faithfully.
Here's a guy at my office that also, got the Hayward haircut.  Before I even knew about the offer
I complimented him on how stylish he looked.   He was motivated by the free haircut offer, if you took a photo at the barbershop with the barber.   Impressed by how much time was spent on him, he will definitely go back.   Thank you, Utah Jazz for footing the bill, to help make Utah men look amazing.

Speak of the QZZR

I recently read this article in the Silicon Slopes magazine about QZZR, when Sarah mentioned her brother works there.   I recognized the name and told her I had read/heard good things about the company.
Here's the photo of the article.   Then I Googled QZZR.   I found the company's website and enjoyed reading about each awesome employee, even Sarah's brother.   WOW.  I am tempted to try a quiz just to see how they work.   Maybe you should too.

Learning The Living Christ at Easter & Beyond

Our RS is memorizing 'The Living Christ' as a goal.
It takes twelve weeks, 700+ words, like climbing a pole
Is very hard to do, but learning it touches our soul.
Knowing Christ makes us feel, not half, but whole.

I decided to take the challenge.  Using a photo of each card to pack around, helps me work on it any time of the day.   At night I am able to use the words to comfort me and think of Jesus.
Weekly when I take the Sacrament and promise to always remember Him, learning this document will remind me of the great things He did everyday for all of us.
The fourth page talks about His arrest, trial, death and the Atonement.   We celebrate that great gift at this Easter time and all year long.
The sections are easy to confuse with one another.  The words are concise and specific.   It is doable with continuous work and prayers.   May we all be ready for Jesus, when he knocks on our door.

All Are Amazing & More

At BHS I saw this cool poster.
If a photo helps others feel their most 'er'
It's worth reading and to use as a coaster.
Helps all feel great and even a little boast 'er'!

Who wouldn't want these words kicking around their room, house and in their head.   It certainly could help one want to try harder, jump higher, not give up and try to change the world.   Here's hoping you will want to do it.

Signing for A School

Once in a lifetime you're invited, so we went.
It was Grantsville star's signing their college intent.
Brayle and Abby were ready, with papers and bent.
They know where to go, with scholarship and tent.

The lunchroom was full of Grantsville folk and family,  coaches and teammates to see Brayle and Abby sign their letters of intent for the colleges they will attend 2017.    Each gave a speech and parents did, too.  Except Mauri said she would cry, so she didn't.  Banners, balloons and basketballs came along for the celebration.   Then each girl signed their letter and held it up for all to see.   Brayle is going to College of Central Wyoming and Abby to Eastern Utah State.   We are so excited for the decisions they have made and the many years of hard work to get to this point.

The Win Was Wonderful

Grantsville and their rival, Stansbury, played basketball.
The varsity girls were ahead, then behind did fall.

They lost their thirty point edge, with fouls and a bad call.
In the end we beat them by one point, that’s all.

Stansbury High School was formed with some of Grantsville and Tooele High students.  Of course they are rivals.   The Stansbury team started out slow, not making a basket until well into the second quarter.   Grantsville was hot and ahead by thirty points at the half.

Beginning in the third quarter, the visitors made their move.  Three point shots dropped through the basket like crazy.   Grantsville's two stars, Brayle (22) and Abbie (32) went out for awhile.   This caused the team to lose momentum.   Soon Stansbury was ahead by eight points.   Lots of ground had to be made up.
As the clock ticked down, they fought their way back to within one point.   A team member made two foul shots, to bring Grantsville ahead by one point.   With less than ten seconds to go, the other team drove the ball down to their court and shot, but the buzzer sounded a split second before the ball left her hand.   Grantsville won.  It was an emotion moment.  The team, coaches, students, parents and all heaved a sigh of relief.   Grantsville is still in first place for the region.  Go Cowboys!

Searching for Seventeen

Skied to Hole 17 at the Mountain View Golf Course.
Here's to a new year, make wisdom your source,
Of choosing wisely, with no regrets or remorse.
Be happy and honest with your friends and the force.

2017 found us.  We didn't have to go looking for it.   So while skiing on the golf course I happened upon Hole 17.  It seems like a good number to snap a picture of.   At least we hope it pans out to be a time of happiness with friends and family.   May we all choose wisely and make every day count for the better.
